The clock is beginning to wind down for the 2009 version of the Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H) and Certified Professional Coder-Payer(CPC-P) exams through the American Academy of Professional Coders. There are still spots available to register for a certification test. Your payment and application packet must be completed by a specified deadline date, which varies by the testing city location. Remember, you can take the exam in any AAPC approved designated city. Larger cities like Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, etc will offer more test dates options than a smaller city location. This can be especially important for examinees who have previously taken an exam and truly know they failed due to not completing the test. Once you come out of the certification exam. You should immediately sign up for the next test. Why wait for the results in this kind of situation and lose valuable study information. You will be more relaxed the 2nd time, because you already know what to expect.
A revision will take place and a rollout of new 2010 certification exams will begin in January. The new study guides for 2010 exams will also be available in January. Go to http://www.aapc.com to register and find out more information on the American Academy of Professional Coders testing requirements. Here is a sample of the registration content:
